Increased security measures at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust provide a safer and more secure environment

Great Yarmouth-based Gardwell Secure Systems has secured additional security installations at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust, based on the company’s reputation, responsiveness and quality of work.

The installations comprised of a total of 64 internal cameras throughout the Hospital connected back to ‘Xtralis Adpro Fasttrace 2’ Hybrid Digital Recorders with built-in transmission.

A total of 8 CCTV cameras were installed in their paediatric areas which require a higher level of security.

The hospital first approached Gardwell in 2007 to provide a range of security systems to ensure the protection of staff, patients and visitors and reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour at their premises relating to drug and alcohol abuse.

Gardwell responded by undertaking a series of site surveys, in conjunction with the hospital’s Security Management Specialist, to address areas of immediate concern and carried out a number of CCTV installations and repairs.

Further installations followed, including a 20-camera system within their A&E department with panic alarms and remote monitoring via King’s Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council’s CCTV control room.

The Trusts Security Management Specialist, Gary Morris, is delighted with the recent installations and commented: “Gardwell consistently provide a reliable and professional service which includes a maintenance programme. The increased security measures provide an effective deterrent against threatening and abusive behaviour towards staff and we have seen a marked decline in the number of incidents. On the rare occasion an incident has occurred, we have been able to provide video evidence to the police to aid prosecution of individuals concerned.”

Gardwell Secure Systems Limited has provided electronic security solutions for more than 15 years including CCTV, access control systems and intruder alarms.
